2020 I got laid off from my job 3 months after I closed on my first home. Everyone knows how much money is required to purchase a home, after the closing most first-time home buyers are ready to chock.

Moving into a new home also requires other expenses, like furniture and broken stuff that was in the house you didn't notice while doing your site visit or showing.

I was sitting in my bathroom one morning unemployed and the worst thing was in the middle of the pandemic, nobody was hiring, and the first mortgage payment came in, and I didn't have any money.

Surprisingly, I saw an ad, where a guy says that he is showing people how to make money from home. That was what I was looking for because if there's one thing missing it was money and now someone says he will show me how to make money! You can be excited but not the way I was. and I clicked.

I didn't know that required a lot of money that I didn't but they said they were going to help me and they did by helping me raise more than $80,000 in credit card debts. And I said to myself, that's ok because I'm going to be rich and I will have enough money to pay the debts back.

Don't ask me how the story ended because 3 years later creditors came after me and garnished my paycheck. Now, since you know how I started and where I came from, let me tell you how I'm going to help you.

Growing your cleaning business will not be easy without this step-by-step guide keep reading and I will explain how I started in the cleaning industry and what I did to succeed.

Step-by-step guide for growing your cleaning business successfully

Below is the 7-step guide for growing your cleaning business successfully without further do let's get into it.

1. Make a cleaning business plan

First things first, grab a piece of paper and a pencil. Think about what you want your cleaning business to look like. Do you want to clean houses, offices, or maybe even schools? Write down your goals and how you're going to achieve them.

It is very important to write down your plan if take a look in the bible and see what they say about plans. Proverbs 21:5 says "The plans of the diligent lead to profit" You can read the rest of the verse by yourself. Make a cleaning business plan.

2. Cleaning business Marketing (Get the Word Out)

Now that you know what you want to do, it's time to tell everyone about it! Spread the word to your friends, family, and neighbors. You can also organize flyers around town or create a website or social media page.

In the marketing world, they called this part "Social Presence" You have to create your platform by leveraging other media platforms.

I see a lot of business owners, who have a YouTube channel for their business with no video, they have a Facebook profile with one post.

If you are serious about growing your business, will have to be out there so people can know that you exist.

Have a lead generation system because if you can't get leads you will never grow.

3. Show Off Your Cleaning Skills

Once you start getting some clients, it's important to show them what you can do! Make sure to do an awesome job every time you clean. Happy customers will tell their friends, and word of mouth is the best way to get more business.

This is one of the most important steps in growing your business, if you don't have the skill find someone with the skill and pay him/her. Never let your customers know that you don't have the required skills.

You don't have to do everything in your business, by the way, in my cleaning business I can only clean the kitchen and when we go to a house cleaning job to clean, after I'm done cleaning the kitchen, my team does everything else.

4. Ask your clients for Reviews

After you've finished cleaning, don't be shy about asking your customers for feedback. Positive reviews will help build your reputation and attract new clients. And if there's anything they didn't like, take it as a chance to improve!

You will be surprised. At first, I was scared to ask for reviews, and I did a lot of jobs and didn't get any reviews. Don't expect everyone will give you a review, but don't be shy.

The technique to get reviews is before you leave the client's house ask if he/she can give you a review.

5. Expand Your cleaning Services As your business grows

You might want to think about offering new services. Maybe you could start offering deep cleaning or eco-friendly options. The more services you offer, the more clients you'll attract.

Or, you can create a special offer that will attract more clients. People who have more options can upsell their clients by giving extra help and that way you can increase the amount of money you charge. Take a look at my example on my lead-generating website https://getcleaned.roenter.com

6. Hire Cleaners for Help

If you're busy and have more clients than you can handle, it might be time to hire some help. You could hire a friend or family member, or even look for someone online. Just make sure they're trustworthy and do a good job.

To grow in money, you will have to grow in the team as well, let say you can clean 3 homes in a day, and in other to grow your business exponentially you will have to be able to have as many teams as possible.

Some cleaning businesses are making 6 or 7 figures a month or a year by leveraging other employees to get the job done.

The cleaning industry is always changing, so it's important to keep learning and improving your skills. You can take classes online or attend workshops in person. The more you know, the better you'll be able to serve your clients.
